As it turns out, one cannot simply disappear for several months and expect everything to be in order upon their return.
But Susan has friends now. Particularly, a friend who can give her a cat Pokemon that can spontaneously produce gold coins. It's a power to be used sparingly, as she has no desire to attract attention from anyone ever again, but it all ends up with her owning her first real house, a small place out in the English countryside, full of cats and the odd fire-breathing alien creature. She hasn't got any close neighbors. It's for the best; she likes to let her pets wander, and that includes the Pokemon. Some of the locals nearest still avoid her - all she's done is gone from the crazy cat lady in Flat Three to the crazy cat lady way out in the middle of nowhere - but that's alright. They don't matter.
She keeps busy; that's important. Her memory never fully recovered, but she recalls enough to pick up her blog again. Her followers had been worried about her. Reconnecting with forgotten friends is a bit trickier, but she makes it all work as well as she can manage. It's harder now, with all the traveling and the strangeness. She never tells anyone alive about where she's been all this time.
But things settle into normalcy, as they tend to. Her house is always open to other survivors of Graceside, of course.* Susan isn't entirely accustomed to playing hostess, but it's a nice, quiet place to get away for a while.
* Excluding a few, but they know who they are and probably don't want to come see her anyhow.

So yeah, a little peace and quiet for her first trip's a great idea.
It takes some time, some innovation. But one way or another, she gets a trans-dimensional ride to the English country side, all bundled in warm fluffy boots and thick leggings and cozy sweater and scarf- and of course a trademark beanie, so she can avoid any potential for chills. It's of course topped off with her scars, one of which (the resurrection price, across her eye) has faded and the other (the death mark) is still just as vivid.
Explaining where she was going... Well, different people got different stories. All that matters is she's here now, knocking impromptu on the door to Susan's little house.]

Things have gotten a bit more unusual lately around here.
After a moment, the door opens and Susan peers out.]
Oh - Ashley! Come in. Did you get here alright?
no subject
And she goes right for a swift hug.]
Yes!! I mean- yes, I got here fine, it's just- it's so good to see you!

[Hugs! Susan has gotten a lot more used to them of late, and she's quick to return it.]
I've missed you too. [It's different living alone after so long not. But she's got her Pokemon, so that's different too.] Come in - it's cold out.
[The house is fairly small. She hadn't needed much; the remoteness was the primary attraction. She'd better be out on her own if she's going to share it with monsters from other worlds - and anyway, she never much liked neighbors. It's clean and not quite to the point of looking lived-in yet, but she's finished unpacking and putting all her art on the walls again.
There's a few cats walking around, who look up at Ashley and then immediately dismiss her as unimportant. They are normal cats.]

Ashley does as told, hurrying inside- it really isn't very warm in the English countryside, is it? She gets momentarily distracted by the art, but everyone has their priorities, and Ashley is nothing if not a cliche; the author who loves cats, who would surround herself with them. Her face lights up at the collection of them.] Oh, hello there, littl- oh. Well, alright then.
[Definitely normal cats. Sigh.]

They'll get used to you. [Maybe.] They got used to the Pokemon, eventually.
[As if on cue, the thing from the roof waddles in. Aerodactyls aren't that graceful on the ground.]

That's...what Giovanni offered to give us...? Mine's still...heh. You know. A fossil. [Someone's still holding on to her Old Amber.]

[Susan says dryly as the Aerodactyl comes over to sniff at Ashley.]
His name's Razor.

H- hi there, Razor...
